Provided over a period of 5 years, the systems also provide online access to related records and documents via Idox’s citizen engagement portal thereby increasing convenience for service users and reducing demand on the council as a service provider. This is the first contract of its type in Scotland and has been designed to enable Highland Council to demonstrate significant savings over the life of the contract.
Malcolm Macleod, Head of Planning & Building Standards at Highland Council commented: “As one of the busiest authorities in Scotland, we are delighted to have entered into this new partnership with Idox, which we are confident will give us immediate access to the latest software upgrades, a more robust and stable system and the platform to look at further business change opportunities as we move forward. The process of transition has been smooth and a credit to all involved”.
