C. ACADEMIC / EXPERT ADVICE (2023)

Proposals to implement the following controls cancelled by Conservative PM Sunak:

UK media ownership is one of the most concentrated in the democratic world, Three groups controlling ~90% of national newspapers are “democratically unhealthy.”, Concentration reduces: diversity of viewpoints, scrutiny of power, resilience against misinformation.

*OUTCOME: Parliament acknowledged the existence of expert-advice submissions but only made 'general references' to: receiving expert advice, considering academic input, reviewing evidence from specialist groups …but they did not debate the content of those reports in detail in parliament or in informing the British public of those warnings.

*Consequences: This 3 point selective sequence of a right wing Conservative party resulted in over the following 11 years the enabling 3 right wing newspaper groups to achieve 90% domination over almost all political news reporting in the U.K. by right wing newspapers printed and digital commentary - and a damaged unfair and democracy

*OUTCOME: The production of virtually ALL featured political news articles favouring the right wing perspective - preventing the broader even balanced narrative essential for measured opinions formed by the public - especially important when elections and by-elections are decided by the public's perception of politics and its politicians.

*Consequences: When the public are deprived of fair and balanced political views - democracy itself is threatened. It is expected when Russia, Iran, China, North Korea operate a 100% state controlled media. To allow a 'constructed' British media to control 90% of its output - this puts the UK just 10% 'soft' state control of the aforementioned countries.

PHASE 3.

FOOTNOTE: As if not enough, the total reach of ALL the written and digital domination of news in the UK, the BBC and all other TV stations with news desks repeat the printed and digital news several times a day 24/7 giving the same 'written and digital' news infinitely more exposure to an overwhelmed British public feeling brainwashed - with only one opinion?
