Incredible Tribal Cultures in India
Tigers by Tribals is an activity to spare our tigers by supporting the tribe that loves them.

BriefingWire.com, 7/07/2015 - New Delhi; July 03, 2015: Tigers by Tribals has started a unique endeavour to bring tourists closer to the tribals of the Indian jungles with the intention of helping them connect and can get acquainted with the bizarre world of inimitable and interesting tribal customs and traditions. The rare to find Indian tribal culture of the jungle inhabitants attracts tourists for its exclusivity and thus helps in flourishing Indian tourism.

Tigers by Tribals has made an unexpectedly successful effort by introducing a unique program which lets tribals showcase their cultural and artistic talents and make them available for sale through an exhibition organised at the annual four-day celebrations of Baghesur Art Festival, a celebration which bring together people of the Baiga tribe of Bandhavgarh and hundreds of tourists together for some fun in the midst of the jungle. The cultures of tribals in India are notably interesting, especially of the Baiga tribe. This tribe worships the tiger and calls it Baghesur. To commemorate their lives in the jungle, an Art Fest is organised every year, which focuses on conservation of the forests and on saving the tigers. It also provides a platform for the people to learn, share, and get an experience of the jungle life that the tribals spent among the howls of the bears and roars of the tigers.

Baiga tribe is the dominant tribe of Indian forests located in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. The people of this tribe practise endogamy. They do not mingle or even talk to the people of other tribes. The Baiga people were known as the true inhabitants of the forest and used to depend extensively on forest produce. They used a method of stash and burning, known as shifting cultivation. The Baiga tribals are talented artists, woodmen, and hunters. Women of the tribe are impressive tattoo artists. Indian tribal art also includes the amazing forms of folk dances like Bhoom, Karma, Bilma and tribal music such as Rautnacha, Dewarnacha, Banthi and Soorwa that are common with the Baiga tribe. Tourists getting along with the tribals get a chance to witness and appreciate the great variety of talents that the Baiga people possess.

Baghesur Art Fest, an Indian Tribal Festival celebrated together by tribals and tourists from 28th November to 1st December showcases the bond between the tigers and the tribals of the forest. It displays art and crafts like paintings, sculptures, woodcrafts, metal works, stone works, jute handicraft items, and much more. The tribal culture in India cannot be celebrated without music and dance, which acts like a major pull for tourists. Any tourists willing to join the tribals can attend the festival this year in Bandhavgarh.
