200 to 300 residents will be able to enjoy a turkey, produce and other non-perishable food items to take home and cook a wonderful Christmas meal for their family.

“Shine On Humanity is honored to be of assistance to Mayor Bartie and his eagerness to help his community. We have partnered with several grocery stores to make this Giveaway a possibility and our only wish is that we could help everyone”, commented Jimmie Wheeler, CEO of Shine On Humanity.

Residents must sign-up at www.shineonhumanity.org from November 30 to December 13 in order to get on the list. The pick-up date is set for December 19, 2020 from 10am to 3pm and the location will be given at a later date.

Port Arthur was heavily hit by flood waters due to Hurricane Harvey back in 2017 and many residents still have not recovered from this disaster. This year Port Arthur was hit by Hurricanes Laura and Delta and the COVID pandemic has left many residents feeling more helpless than ever.

We hope a good meal with family and friends will lift some spirits during these difficult times.
