MCP Talent Agency helps Winnipeg organizations book stand-up comedy for corporate events, from holiday parties and staff appreciation nights to conferences and award dinners. The family-owned speakers bureau has matched events with speakers and entertainers since 1972. Its team works with event planners across Manitoba, the rest of Canada, and the United States. The annual corporate event is a yearly affair, and no one wants that one night associated with anything negative. Winnipeg event planners no longer have to guess when they receive a shortlist of entertainers chosen just for them.An unspoken concern comes up when planning entertainment for corporate events. What if the comedian misreads the crowd? One offensive joke in front of the CEO, key customers, or recruits can turn what was meant to be a light-hearted night into an awkward Monday morning. MCP Talent Agency helps event planners avoid that kind of scenario. Their list includes stand-up comedians, improv teams, musicians, magic comics, impressionists, and even bilingual comedians and emcees. The first step is to understand the audience type, event objectives, and budget. With that information, MCP Talent Agency provides a list of entertainers to choose from and handles all logistics from there.
“A corporate crowd is not a comedy club crowd. People in that room work together, and they will see each other the next morning. We look for comedians who can read that, keep the humor clean and smart, and still get real laughs. When the right act is on stage, people put their phones down, and the event becomes something they talk about for weeks,” said a spokesperson for MCP Talent Agency.
Booking through MCP Talent Agency doesn't add to the act's cost. The agency earns its commission from the performer’s standard fee, which stays the same whether a planner books through the agency or directly. Planners also get the comfort of a replacement guarantee. If a performer cannot appear for reasons beyond their control, the team works to find a suitable replacement so the show goes on.
