Music Bugs Launch National Nursery Rhyme Week Initiative
Leading preschool music class provider launch national initiative to promote the learning benefits of singing rhymes with young children.

BriefingWire.com, 3/25/2013 - Wiltshire, UK. 25th March 2013. Music Bugs, who provide sensory music and singing classes around the UK for the Under 5's, are launching 'National Nursery Rhyme Week', an open access initiative to promote the importance of nursery rhymes for young children. Open to parents, childminders, teachers, librarians and all Early Years settings, the event will run from 11th-15th November.

Claire Bennett, founder of Music Bugs says ‘It cannot be over emphasised how important nursery rhymes are in early childhood development. Rhymes provide children with the building blocks they need to develop key skills such as communication, language and literacy as well as social confidence and creativity. Our aim is to provide parents and Early Years practitioners with an opportunity to get involved in an event that celebrates and promotes the importance of nursery rhymes for young children’.

A Facebook page, 'National Nursery Rhyme Week' has been set up to kick-start the launch and registration will be available on the Music Bugs website from July. Event participants will be able to access a range of free resources such as song lyrics, activity sheets and press release templates to help them organise their own event.

'This is the first event of its kind in the UK', added Claire, who plans to run the initiative annually, 'and we are amazed by the response we have received so far following our social media launch two weeks ago. Our aim is to get nursery rhymes back into daily use and we are really looking forward to launching the event later in the year’.
