Network Marketing Ideas: MLM versus GPT
Helping You To Make An Informed Decision On MLM And GPT

BriefingWire.com, 3/08/2010 - If you are new to the work at home industry, you will suddenly be confronted with many different ways to earn money. Based on your personality, the amount of cash with which you can "front" a new endeavor, and your income needs, you should choose which opportunity works best for you. In this article, we discuss two marketing systems, MLM and GPT, in depth so you can make an informed decision.

Common work at home opportunities

There are several different systems out there, such as:

Affiliate marketing, in which you allow another company to advertise on your website. You earn commissions based on customers "clicking through" to other site.

Direct sales, in which you are recruited by a company to sell their products. You can sell anything from premium kitchen goods to cosmetics in this way.

Turnkey franchises, in which you purchase an on-line business already made by a marketing expert.

Each kind of business requires a different level of commitment, so you'll need to check your options carefully to find the right one for your needs.

What's Multi-Level Marketing?

Multi-level marketing, also known as MLM, is one of the most common ways to earn income from home. In this system, you are hired by a company to sell its goods or products. You then earn a commission based on your sales. In addition, you are required to recruit a certain number of other salespeople to the company, and you earn commissions from their sales.

Many direct sales companies use MLM as an incentive to get their sales force to bring in more recruits and as a way to spread the word about the company's products.

What's GPT marketing?

GPT, also known as Get Paid Today, is a new marketing system developed by two internet gurus who were frustrated with the MLM system. In GPT, you are only required to bring in a handful of top tier recruits to earn income. You get paid before anyone else, so your income is not directly tied to the performances of your recruits as it is with the MLM system. In addition, GPT relies less on residual income and more on upfront, current money-making opportunities.

As with MLM, GPT is usually implemented in direct sales, although it can be used with turnkey franchises as well.

The umbrella term for all of these opportunities is network marketing. Depending upon your situation, you'll opt for the system that works best to fill your needs. Typically, mlm costs less to start-up but gives lower income opportunity over time, while GPT requires a more sizable investment but pays better over time.
