Tamlite believes that with the emphasis on innovative technologies, many have forgotten the impact that simple building system upgrades can have. This is especially true when it comes to reducing energy use and operational costs.By replacing outdated lighting with modern LED systems, buildings can be made more efficient. Coupled with intelligent control systems, this can bring about savings of between 60% to 80%.
Electricity for lighting makes for approximately 15% of global power consumption and 5% of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. Upgrades can also reduce carbon emissions as part of wider sustainability efforts.
Tamlite’s Marketing and Wellbeing Manager, Debbie-Sue Farrell, said: “Replacing outdated lighting with modern LED systems can effectively reduces energy use and carbon emissions. With an increasing need for building systems to perform both effectively and cost-effectively, upgrades are easy to do and should be seen as a key part of any energy saving and decarbonisation plan.”
