Rightly deemed as a different initiative to help in the overall development of students, Rotary Youth Exchange offers student scholarships and study abroad programs, which eventually transform them into global citizens. The study abroad programs, in particular, help students grow differently, which is not possible by studying in their respective countries. The reason being, student exchange programs help students a great deal, as exchanging cultures with students and people of the destination country add to their knowledge base.With the intent to put some light on the youth exchange study abroad programs on offer, the spokesperson of Rotary Youth Exchange stated, “Our student scholarships and exchange programs help students develop intellectually, mentally, and boost their knowledge to a great extent. The cultural exchange, studying a different curriculum with students that come from different cultural backgrounds and civilizations is surely a new, unique experience for students. This adds to their experiences, makes them self-reliant, and boosts their confidence."
Rotary Youth Exchange has been established with the intent to offer study abroad programs with a difference, besides offering a different learning experience to every interested student. This helps them prepare for future challenges in a better way. In addition, interacting with new people from a different cultural background enables students to learn diverse and different things every day. This adds more to their knowledge and makes them capable of understanding even difficult things easily.
When asked about the gap-year student exchange program, the spokesperson further commented, “Interested students can reach out to us to find a broad selection of student exchange programs, including a short-term exchange in the summer, a full academic year of high school, or a gap year. Based on the grade students’ study in, we allow them to choose programs abroad. We sponsor student exchange programs in more than 100 countries all over the world wherein students between 15 and 19 years of age can participate.”
Rotary Youth Exchange also offers a high school study abroad program, which is its flagship program. Students between 14 and 19 years of age can opt for this program. The experience of students begins at least one year ahead of the commencement of the program. The concerned students need to go through the application, selection, and preparation process. During the study abroad tenure, students’ study in a local school and live with at least three to four carefully chosen and trained host families.
