Rotary Youth Exchange is helping students to develop the requisite skill sets essential for becoming a global citizen. As the name suggests, Rotary Youth Exchange offers youth exchange programs in coordination with its parent organization Rotary in over 100 countries across 5 continents. The programs enable 15 to 19 years old to learn new languages, discover foreign cultures, develop leadership skills, and create bonds that last a lifetime. From lodging to food, the organization makes arrangements for it all and more, ensuring a hassle-free experience for each participant. The programs are sponsored by Rotary, making them easy on the pocket for participants. One of the executives at Rotary Youth Exchange recently stated, “In a virtually connected world, real interactions do matter when it comes to bringing people, cultures and nations together. At Rotary Youth Exchange, we are doing exactly the same through expertly tailored short-term and long-term youth exchange programs for teenagers and young adults. Our programs are broadly classified into three categories, High School Abroad, Gap Year Abroad and Summer Abroad. Interested parents can get in touch with their local Rotary Club to know the available exchange opportunities and the nitty-gritty of the application process.”
Gap Year Abroad Programs are designed for current high school students seeking to study abroad. Simply put, the program helps the participant make the most of the gap year by letting them travel and pursue the education in a foreign location. On the other hand, Summer Abroad programs blend culture and adventure to deliver an enriching experience. The student is free to opt from Summer Abroad program options, such as home stays, tours, family-to-family, and international youth camps.
On The High School Abroad program, the executive further stated, “For students keen on exploring education avenues aboard, our High School Abroad program is a perfect choice. It is a scholarship program tailored to the student’s exact needs, wants and budget. The participant will be staying with several carefully selected and trained host families, and attending a local high school. Secondary travel and medical insurance, accident, ill-health, repatriation and third-party liability. Monthly stipend from hosting Rotary Club is also provided to each student.”
The student is required to bear the program fee, which varies from one Rotary district to the other, along with primary insurance for travel and medical, accident, ill health, repatriation, and additional coverage against third party liability. The other outlays include airfare, passport and visa application fees, and travel costs. Additionally, those looking for a foreign exchange student program can also expect round the clock worldwide emergency assistance throughout the program duration.
