The Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA), the authoritative voice for Telecommunications Management and Solutions Providers in related areas, inducted its first Hall of Fame members at its meeting in Orlando, Florida. Managing Director Joe Basili said “We are in their debt. These founding TEMIA Executive Board members and their successors had the vision to create an industry association for leaders from member firms in the highly competitive Telecom Expense Management market. They saw the need for the industry to spotlight its benefits, improve standards, and set the general tone for the market. From the start, a guiding principle has been a rising tide will lift all boats or improvements in the general market will benefit all participants in the TEM marketplace. It has been a privilege to work with each of these people.”
TEMIA’s first class of Hall of Fame inductees includes David Spofford, CEO Dimension Data, Communications Lifecycle Management, TEMIA’s first Executive Board President. Larry Foster Calero Software EVP was also honored for his role as TEMIA’s second President. Don Hobbs and Dave Perdue were recognized for their work as TEMIA’s first Treasurer and Secretary. They were both also active on its membership committee. Finally, Joe Chopek Focus Point Technologies CEO,was recognized for serving as Executive Board Vice President, and his work on membership and ethics committees.
Larry Foster, EVP for Calero Software, said, “I am honored to be recognized by TEMIA. Being a member of TEMIA over the last nine years has been beneficial to both me personally and my company. TEMIA has allowed us to keep abreast and adapt to the continual changes in the industry and form relationships and partnerships that benefit our clients. I am very impressed how this organization has grown and become the default professional organization for Telecommunication solution providers.”
Upon receiving the award Joe Chopek, CEO of Focus Point Technology, said, “I am proud to accept the award, but also very pleased with the advancements and achievements of TEMIA. TEMIA has ‘led from the front’ on a variety of issues. These include the creation and operation of an Ethics Committee and a deliberate Code of Ethics for member and clients to benefit from and an effort to grow partnering between members. I would also note that during our membership period as our company evolved. In part that success happened because of our TEMIA membership, lessons learned, friendships and alliances made through TEMIA’s activities. As I start the next chapter with Focus Point Technology we are ready to assist or mentor any TEMIA Member or applying for membership entity.”
