Things that Are Running Through Mind of a Future Bride
After your partner pops the question and reality sets in, a million things start running through a brides mind.

BriefingWire.com, 4/27/2015 - After your partner pops the question and reality sets in, a million things start running through a brides mind. When should we get married, what venue should we choose, how many people should we invite; and the list goes on and on.

First thing you need to sit down and discuss is what type of wedding you are both hoping for. Do you want to be married on a beach somewhere hot, or would you prefer High Mountain Weddings or a very formal event a posh hotel? Obviously the answer this question will help you start your planning, after all, there is no point calling hotels in the city when you are hoping for a Tahoe Beach Wedding.

Once you have your wedding venue in mind, you need to think then of what the guest list is going to look like. This is a good thing to do with not only your partner but with both sets of the family as they will each have a list of people they want to invite. Once you have an approximate number, you will then know what venues can even accommodate the size of wedding you are having.

Another key question to discuss and typically with family, especially if they are helping to pay for the wedding, is the budget. Yes, it is a scary word but it is one of the most important factors in planning any event, let alone a wedding. Big or small every wedding needs to have a budget.

Once you have an idea of the type of wedding you are planning, the size of the wedding and your budget you can then get started on looking at venues that fit your requirements.

I suggest you make out a list of possible venues and print off a copy of all the catering packages. Most venues will have their catering packages on their website for you to print off and view. Take a look at the pricing and what they offer. To come up with an approximate cost go through and using the pricing as a guide to come up with a sample menu and include all the extras that apply to you, alcohol costs, room charges, and applicable service charges. This should give you an idea of what your bill would look like and will tell you whether it fits within your budget. If the prices are completely out of line with what you have budgeted, then don't even bother going to look at the facility.

The next step would be to book an appointment with the person in charge of booking events at the facility. Come prepared with a list of all your questions and were sure to write everything down. After a few venues, you may start to forget what was included at which venue.

Based on my experience, I am a firm believer that most brides will walk into their venue, and they will just know. You will have a feeling and a comfort level with the person in charge of facilitating your wedding at the venue, which will make the decision an easy one. After booking your venue, the fun will begin.
