Top 3 Tips to help you master AP Chemistry
AP Chemistry weighing on your mind heavily? Have you always been troubled with chemistry?

BriefingWire.com, 11/17/2016 - AP Chemistry might seem particularly daunting to you then! Read on to learn a few tips and tricks that have been compiled to help you overcome your fears and score top marks in the subjects.

#1: Start prep early and study outside your class too

If AP Chemistry petrifies you, there is no point in wasting time. Start studying early and get the best hands on deck to deal with the problem. If classroom lessons aren’t enough to bolster your confidence, you better enlist the help of an online chemistry tutor who can sit with you and help you deal with problem areas. It is important to do a SWOT analysis and identify areas where extra effort is required. Doing all of this pretty early will improve your chances of scoring high in the paper.

#2: Understand the format of the exam and study accordingly

There is your MCQ and then there is the Free Response question section in AP exams. Familiarizing yourself with the question patterns can help you prepare better for the exams. While MCQs require a specific strategy, free response questions require a different one altogether. For instance, MCQs give you options and they should be dealt with in about 40-45 minutes (60 questions) so that you get more time for your free response questions. Take a lot of tests separately for the MCQs and free response ones and also work on mock tests that have the same pattern as that of AP exams. Time them and analyze where you go wrong after test. Though this is oft repeated advice, most online chemistry tutors vouch by this technique for better results.

#3: Maximize credit in your free response questions

You didn’t think we would skip talking about free response questions after talking about MCQs; surely not! There are two kinds of questions that you would have to tackle in this section:

A) Multipart questions that are long

B) Short questions that could either be single or multipart

It is usually recommended that you spend about 10 minutes for the short ones and about 15-16 minutes for the long ones. First of all, read the question well and thoroughly before you begin answering. Remember that some sections of the question might rely on answers derived in the previous portions and you would get to know this only when you read the question fully! Justification for your reasoning is very important as this might get you partial credit even if your final answer is incorrect.

Acing your AP chemistry isn’t quite as difficult as you may think and it is very much possible if you utilize these tips and tricks. If you are apprehensive about chemistry and are struggling to cope with class, it is better to start your prep early and getting chemistry homework help could work out to your benefit. Good Luck!
