What are Venetian Blinds?

A Venetian blind has horizontal slats, one above another and can be made of metal, plastic, wood effect or wood. Wooden Venetian Blinds are normally referred to as Wooden Blinds. The slats sit above each other when they are open and when they are closed they slightly overlap to give you more privacy and darkness. Venetian blind slats can be angled to allow more or less sun or daylight in and the whole blind can be pulled fully open by a cord system at the side to allow a full view from your window.

How practical is a Venetian Blind?

A Venetian blind is a modern and contemporary window covering and you have so many options when it comes to being open, closed or partially open or closed.

They are easy to open and close with the mechanism and there is no weight to them.

Smaller rooms can be overtaken with curtains as they take up walls space either side of your window opening. A Venetian blind can be fitted inside a window recess or just outside offering a minimal and contemporary look and feel, making your room look bigger, spacious and modern.

How does a Venetian Blind work?

A Venetian blind can be fitted inside or outside of a window recess and are opened using a safe pulley mechanism or cord which can be fitted to either side of the blind for easy opening and closing. The pulley mechanism or cord will fully open the blind giving you a full view from the window and the second cord you use to tilt the slats when the blind is closed to give you partial privacy or deflect the suns glare.

There is minimal strength needed to open and close a Venetian blind as the pulley mechanism or cord removes the weight of the blind.

Can I have a patterned Venetian Blind?

It isn’t possible to have a patterned Venetian blind due to the slats, however, you can have different effects for example wood effect.
