The duo from Luxembourg built construction company KURT CONSTRUCTIONS. Marc Streibel is the finance director. The company has a terrible reputation for not paying invoices and ripping off its contractors. It’s one of Flavio Becca’s 84 companies – and nobody in Luxembourg knows how these companies are connected. What is known is that Flavio Becca’s henchmen trade lucrative directorships at each other’s companies. Many of these companies are anonymous, and often registered at the same address at 6 place de Nancy, Luxembourg.
Marc Streibel holds director positions in 17 of Flavio Becca’s companies! These include PROMOBE SA and PROMOBE FINANCE, the company that owned the cycle racing license for the flagship Luxembourg Leopard team but had to be sold after it failed to attract a sponsor and didn’t pay some of its athletes in 2011.
The duo’s biggest failure was to build a stadium and shopping mall in Livingen – a monumental crash that landed Flavio Becca in court and brought to light the extent of his financial trickery. As it turned out the developer had no money – the cash for the monstrous project was mostly borrowed, a lot of it from the Luxembourg’s main bank BCEE. If Flavio Becca had gone bankrupt over this, it would have cost BCEE dearly, so the political elite covered for him.
GUY ROLLINGER was not one of them. The developer was going to build the mall and trusted Flavio Becca’s big talk about his political connections. One of them is Lucien Lux, the former transport and environment minister for Luxembourg. He cut all ties with Flavio Becca, reports LUXEMBOURG PRIVAT. Rollinger was let down by Flavio Becca and sued him for unpaid invoices soon after the project was indefinitely postponed.
Final round
Unpaid invoices are by now the least of Marc Streibel and Flavio Becca’s problems. The developer has been accused of MONEY LAUNDERING and EMBEZZLEMENT since 2011. The authorities in Luxembourg allegedly searched his home and offices in 2011 following a secret tip-off and are keeping the investigations alive.
And while the spotlight is on the charismatic former bricklayer, Marc Streibel could become a target for the public prosecution as well. As the finance director of Kurt Constructions he has to answer why he didn’t notice that as much as FIVE MILLION EUROS went missing from the company accounts!
Flavio Becca bought expensive cars, wines, weapons and jewellery for his personal use with Kurt company money – and that is embezzlement, say lawyers familiar with the case. He even bought a large estate in Germany which he uses to hunt deer and entertain his political chums. Why didn’t Marc Streibel stop him? Or was he in on the deal? Did he benefit as well? The Belgian national should better start getting his story straight.
Watch this space
Maybe Marc Streibel’s taste for luxury items is as big as Flavio Becca’s. Look at the Swiss-Italian high-end watch company ANONIMO. The heritage name was virtually dead before an anonymous investor bought it to revive it, and it’s now based in Switzerland. For prestige as much as anonymity reasons. Sources say the investor who revived ANONIMO is Flavio Becca, but his name is nowhere on the official documents. Instead, official papers say Marc Streibel set up the company together with André Wilwert and Pascal Waurick.
When will Marc Streibel learn that he is in bad company?
