The result of this unregulated restriction on arms produced a sequence of school associated deaths and casualties with around 2260 recorded incidents - creating the only major industrialised country where firearms are the leading cause of death and injuries for children and teens.

This all came about because of a single powerful body, with the aid of the Republican party and its policies. The perfect demonstration of how money and power can override or influence a government, but only if that government allows it to.

In the UK, we face a different structure but the same outcome: a media landscape where a small group of 3 independent billionaire-owned outlets dominate the national conversation, set the agenda, and frame public opinion long before voters ever reach a ballot box.

The creation of this dominance however was more structured as it required the purchase of the most significant body of newspapers to be bought by this 'informal' cartel, but in order to do that the government of the day had to allow that to take place, which they did on 3 separate occasions..

1/. Leveson Part One: in 2011 there was a Judicial Public Enquiry covering illegal phone hacking and other matters by the Press which found 1/. The press had engaged in widespread unethical behaviour. 2/. The Press Complaints Commission was not fit for purpose. 3/. A new, independent regulator was needed.

The then Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron accepted many findings but refused to implement the legal underpinning. He rejected the central recommendation: a regulator recognised in law.

*In the UK, the decision by a Cameron led Conservative party to block too much oversight over the media coincided with the Conservative Party and the Multi-Billionaire owned media both aligning politically*

2/. Leveson Part Two: Part 2 of the enquiry, was designated with the intention of investigating corruption between press and police. This was cancelled in 2018 by Theresa May’s Conservative government.

3/. In 2023, Several independent groups presented their different reports plus another 4 reports from 4 academics all making similar points about the dangers of the domination of media groups.

These findings were described as “dangerous levels of concentrated ownership” in multiple public reports.

No acknowledgement of the “dangerous levels” findings has been recorded. No regulator or government body has responded directly to the warnings. All under the watch of the 3rd Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

So, created by the first Conservative PM, assisted by the second Conservative PM, Mission accomplished the 3rd Conservative PM. MEDIA DOMINANCE

**It was at this point that the domination of right wing media has escalated to 90% of ALL printed and digital news virtually 'brainwashing' the British public with politically biased news - dominance not much less than that of Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea's virtual 100% state control of their media.

Until we acknowledge that influence — whether it comes from a gun lobby or a Tri Multi-Billionaire owned media empire — we cannot claim to have a fully informed public or a truly independent democracy.
