Philadelphia, PA. Black Religious Leaders Increase the CALL for Public Denouncement of Evil Among Religious Leadership?Several Black religious leaders from Philadelphia called for the MEGA church leadership to increase its voice and take a righteous public stand, not a generic version, but address the failure of political leadership that cost the lives of patriots serving this nation in the U.S. Capitol.
Bishop Gilbert Coleman of Philadelphia indicated “ This past week our nation got to witness one of the most ghastly events ever in the history of our nation. The behavior exhibited was deplorable and to think that the leader of our nation would fan the flames. As a leader in the body of Christ, I totally denounce this behavior and call on all of my colleagues to do the same. Indeed this is a time when we must all take self-inventory of where our loyalties lie and desire to see this nation come back to God!” Leader of Transforming the Minds of Men Ministry.
Bishop Janice Hollis of the Power4 Now movement stated “It is a disgrace to our nation, to our children, and our God for those in a position of influence in the Church to now hide themselves in the time of evil, and not function as sentinels (Watchmen on the wall) to provide spiritual direction to civic engagement, shame on YOU! Those who publicly supported our president, also have the responsibility before God to denounce his bad behavior, to remain silent is hypocritical, and a stench before our God Almighty. In your complicit silence, you aligned to call ‘EVIL good, and GOOD evil.’ WE must be men and women of integrity and call out abominations when they exist… innocent blood is crying out against you. WE must promote peace, and reconcile to heal as every citizen has the God-given right to express their views, and at the same time speak TRUTH to power, but not with violence.”
Prov 14:34 NLT Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people. I heard our political representatives quote Romans 13 during BLM movement, I heard none during the last break-in at our Nation’s Capitol. Remember right is right if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong if everyone is doing it. We cannot call the wrong done by President Trump supporters was right, he should have been the first to discourage actions as opposed to encouraging them. We as men and women of faith must cry out against injustice at all times".
