If ever Democracy was ever going to be threatened - the upcoming mass by-election in May is the time it will be executed.BBC Verify was established to scrutinise claims, expose misinformation, and provide clarity on matters of public interest. Yet BBC did not address or even acknowledge the Guardian’s investigation into Nigel Farage’s questionable home-video earnings — despite the story involving significant financial flows, including those from foreign-linked sources, further raising questions about the lack of transparency of the Nigel Farage event - completely contrary to that of all matters 'daily' to the intense forensic scrutiny of the Prime Minister.
This is further exaggerated as the BBC's, like that of the majority of British written and digital media in the last 2 years, consistent attacks on the British government whilst being 'light footed' in its placid treatment of the Conservative party. but blatantly negligent on its duty to the public in its reporting of someone constantly referred to as the probable next Prime Minister.
Given their remit, the silence from BBC Verify is notable. It suggests either a decision to avoid the story or a breakdown in the editorial process. The public relies on BBC Verify to apply scrutiny consistently, regardless of the political figure involved.
There can be no doubt whatsoever that an informal unwritten 'cartel' on political news Click Here reporting in the UK to exhibit a clear right wing leaning version of political news to the British public is a dangerous and undemocratic act having national consequences to the cohesion of society in its denial of fair minded neutral provision of political life in the UK.
Never was this ever truer “When billionaires own the news, the news serves billionaires.”
The revelation of such an excessive and damaging report on who is by definition of media itself, the most favoured political leader in the UK, Nigel Farage.
The decision that the media made was to collectively suppress that news report - which they very successfully did for several days followed by watered down 'leaking' small segments of that report.
Historically plenty of daily headlines in the spirit of 'this could be Starmer's last chance', which continue to today, but no media headlines about a 'leading politician producing nasty videos on-demand' for (according to the Guardian newspaper) more than '£350,000+' for himself) making this the the most significant 'headline' story about a prominent political figure since Boris Johnson's Partygate.
And, with a more politically balanced news media, would have most certainly seen the Nigel Farage's of his political career.
All of previous political scandals were mainly the responsibility of a Prime Minister or a Party at the time - this scandal however is exclusively owned by British Media itself, enabled by the Conservative government from 2010 onwards, but executed entirely by the Multi-Billionaire owned right wing media.
What is much more significant and dangerous is that, in the upcoming widespread local by-elections, around 5000 seats will be contested - now, from a background of severely damaged and one-sided political news 'brainwashing' over a 2 year period.
What chance of there being a balanced and considered opinion by the British public on which party to vote for would be - GB2GB would argue it would be about as predictable - and fair - as one in a Russian vote for its next President?
