We asked Altin a few questions about his experience in working with Sofema

1. Initially, what inspired you to start a career in aviation?

My work in aviation began shortly after the fall of the communist regime in Albania. It was a time when “freedom” was still a foreign concept to us and the opportunity to travel and meet new people was only possible through aviation.

2. What motivates you as an aviation instructor and what is the best part about being a Sofema trainer?

The desire to share my knowledge and experience while guiding those that still are at the beginning of their “aviation journey”. Knowledge is the most important gift we can give others! SOFEMA granted this rare opportunity to me!

3. Which aspects do you find most rewarding in your career?

Learning new things about this everchanging field and being able to share them with others.

4. And what challenges have you faced along the way?

One of the biggest challenges that one faces, particularly in a place like Albania, is the lack of professional individuals, especially in the field of aviation. This makes implementing new methods and strategies more difficult due to a lack of understanding and willingness to improve.

5. Besides Aviation, what other areas pique your interest?

Law and compliance with the law… Jokes aside, my daughter actually graduated law school I love hearing her talk about legal doctrines.

6. Lastly, what will you advise people who dream of a career in aviation?

Aviation is amazing. You will be constantly learning new things, improving, and granted rare opportunities that you will not have in other fields.
