Congressman Kevin Brady released the following statement after voting against anti-energy legislation in the House of Representatives:

“In Texas, curtailing offshore drilling activities would negatively impact the hundreds of thousands in the Greater Houston area who work for the oil and gas industry and would have adverse, long term consequences on our state’s economic well-being.

“Regulating offshore drilling practices will also threaten America’s national security by increasing our energy dependence on hostile foreign states.
