Philadelphia. The Nation's Sleep Out is encouraging participants to support the Nation Sleep Out initiative by wearing the "FACELESS" we see you wristbands the entire day and if possible, to attend a public event in selected cities or host an event at home. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Participation as a keepsake. On Saturday, December 7, 2019 at least 1.5 million US Citizens are expected to show solidarity and support homeless campaigns across the nation. Individual wristbands are $7 donation and there are group packages as well. The NSO organization is comprised of several business leaders, clergy, teachers, students, and generally concerned individuals and have partnered with mental wellness screening, employment training and job readiness centers to fund raise support for these types of local groups that provide critical services to displaced families and individuals. All gifts are tax deductible.
Organizers indicated the December 7 event is a wonderful teaching moment to encourage children to use their voice to make a difference to impact change by creating a short video of their event to submit for consideration to be placed in the documentary FACELESS that is in production.
Lastly, there is a 1 Billion Beams of Light social media campaign connected where teens can REGISTER to send encouraging messages to combat bullying and other negative exchanges on the internet.
