The Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition (HAGC) is born out of the Haitian immigrants struggle to have equal treatment for Haitian Nationals in the United States and other countries in the region. HAGC pursues fair treatment the empowerment of Haitian Nationals through self-governance and engages local, state and federal government to enact laws and appropriate administrative regulations to allow better integration of Haitian Nationals within America's mainstream society.
HAGC was created in 1998 by leaders in the Haitian-American community mainly in Miami. Today thru its Haitian-Advocacy network it has membership in most states in the Soueast and Norteast of the United States. HAGC is an action and pro-active oriented group that is part of the Organization of American States Civil Society Registry since 2005 as per the OAS Resolution.
